1. Education:
We provide free technical education to the people living in the district of
Sirmour who are living below the poverty line. This technical education includes
computer management, agriculture, and reforestation. They are taught with the
help of specialists in a voluntary and economic based environment.
Through creating writing, painting, and quiz competitions, the schools have made
a higher level of enthusiasms that has improved the children significantly.
2. Health:
Through health related preventive interventions, we have been able to reach out
to the villagers through providing basic health awareness and medical check-ups
by skilled physicians.
This includes physiotherapy, basic daily living skills (occupational therapy),
and speech therapy.
3. Vocational/skill training:
Sidhi has been organizing training camps to create occupational skills in the
rural villages. Some of the skills are lantana utilization and textile handy
crafts.
We have established a vocational training center in which 40 students per year
receive training in different Arts and Craft programs.
These programs are affiliated by the Government of Himachal Pradesh.
One computer center provides Diplomas in computer application and management,
and is currently working in affiliation with the Ministry of Youth Affairs and
Sports (Nehru Yuva Kendra Nahan).
4. Special areas:
Sidhi is reaching all over Sirmour
to help special children who are hearing and visually impaired. These children
are also physically and mentally challenged. This program is working through S S
A (Sarv Shiksha Abhiyan) in which 40 children have been chosen from the
surrounding villages. Sidhi is providing special education for their basic daily
living skills, physiotherapy, Yoga, speach therapy, and primary education
through home based environments.
5. Environment:
Environment awareness camps are
organized regularly. SIDHI is very much committed to protect wild life
sanctuaries and protected areas in the state and provides advocacy in these
matters.
